Boarding FAQs
You’ve Got Questions. We’ve Got Answers.
What are your requirements for boarding?
All dogs must be current on their vaccinations. For puppies under 6 months we ask to see proof of early vaccinations as well. We currently require DHPP, Rabies and Bordetella. We do not require that your dog be spayed/neutered in order to stay with us, intact dogs are welcome but may be placed in social groups accordingly.

Boarding is a minimum of 2 nights - we do not currently offer any daycare programs.

My pet has a special diet. Can their needs be accommodated?
Yes! We do not charge extra to administer medications or provide special diets. We can even accommodate dogs who's diets need refridgerated/frozen during their stay.
Where do the dogs sleep at night?
Every dog has their own 4 x 4 indoor kennel run with a elevated kurunda cot and dog bed. This area is where they have their meals and take rest periods. The room is fully temperature controlled and remotely monitored.
Are there any breed, temperament or age restrictions to come to the OC Dog Ranch?
All dogs coming to OC Dog Ranch must be at least 4 months old or have completed their vaccination series. We do not have any breed restrictions although we do not take dogs with severe dog or human aggression due to our open play environment. We also like clients to be aware that while we have a 6 foot perimeter fence, most of our interior play yards have 4 foot fencing so please consider this if your dog is a fence jumper, escape artist, or has any issues with separation anxiety. If your dog has temperament concerns and you are interested in a training program, please reach out and we can discuss whether the ranch would be a good fit for your pet and your goals.
Training FAQs
Do you offer in home training or just boarding and training?
Yes we offer in home private training lessons if your pet is not old enough yet to come to the ranch or has aggression that makes it unsuitable for staying at the ranch. In home training is available in North or South Orange County. Lessons are 1 hour in length and any issues can be worked on in private training lessons.
What type of training methods do you use?
We are balanced dog trainers which means that we start all behaviors/training with positive reinforcement and overlay correction only when the dog fully understands what is expected of them. If you'd like to proceed with training we will set you up with a phone consult with the trainer to go over methods to make sure you are comfortable with the training plan for your dog.
How will my dog know to listen to me after they complete their boot camp?
Every boot camp program comes with follow up training lessons to ensure that the training properly transfers to the owner. These one hour follow up lessons are typically done in San Juan Capistrano and go over all the behaviors we have taught the dog. We also send home a ton of support material including written notes and videos to make sure you understand how to bring the best out of your dog after they go home.
Do you offer payment plans or discounts?
We currently do not offer payment plans, all payments are due at the time of drop off. We accept check, cash, or credit card.

We currently offer discounts for military, police, fire fighters and veterans. We also offer 2nd-dog discounts for our training programs, extended stay discounts, and discounts for dogs who compete in home private training with us.
What kind of training guarantees do you offer?
We do not offer any training guarantees for our boot camp programs. This may shock some owners but the reason is quite simple; we can be the best dog trainers in the world but if the dog goes home to an owner who doesn't follow through with our instructions we can't guarantee how the dog will act. I will say that in training hundreds of dogs that my owners who follow directions, read the material we send home, watch the short videos we include with the training program, and complete all their follow up lessons will be extremely happy with the results of the boot camp. We invite you to visit our yelp page and read our multiple 5-star reviews.
My dog has dog or people aggression, can it still come to the ranch?
We have successfully rehabilitated many dogs who have "on leash" aggression or mild human aggression (resource guarding, handling issues, etc). We do not accept dogs with severe aggression towards humans or other animals. If you are not sure if your dog would be a good fit, please reach out and we can discuss your dog would be a good candidate for the ranch.
